Medhashri Mahanty is a PhD research scholar and a Mellon Fellow at the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta. Her work is on political theology and the historiography of popular literature in 18^th and 19^th-century Bengal. Her interests include microhistory, ruins, and miniature painting among others.
