Desetti Kesava Rao passes away

We regret to note that senior writer Desetti Kesava Rao passed away in Hindupur on May 5th, 2012. He was ailing for some time.

Kesava Rao, born1937, wrote short stories and poems in Telugu and English and translated from Telugu into English. Madhupatram is a collection of his Telugu short stories, Kalyana Geethi a 'satakam' of devotional poems, and Maroswaram a collection of Telugu poems.

Some of his English poems have been published in different journals, and Dawn is a collection of poems. He had translated G V Krishna Rao's Telugu novel Keelubommalu into English for Macmillan under the title Puppets. He has also translated some Telugu poems and short stories into English. A teacher by profession, he retired from service in 1995. He lived in Hindupur and had a large group of online students.

Muse India pays its homage to a veteran writer and a translator. We had carried his work in our Issues.
