4 May 2012: Srinivas Sistla’s "Art Quiz" launched

Srinivas Sistla, a prolific writer with nine works to his credit, three of them being translations into English from Telugu, has recently brought out two more books. He is an Associate Professor in Art History and Aesthetics and HOD, Fine Arts, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. Despite traumatic turns in his personal and domestic arena – the like of which that would have shattered any mortal sans fortitude - Srinivas has stood like a rock in pressing ahead with his academic, research and writing activity.

Art Quiz: Italian Renaissance, released in January 2012, is the first in the series of 13 volumes on the subject of Art. It interests any general reader, more specifically those related to literature, though it will be of especial significance to the students of visual arts. Apart from the way the questionnaires and the multiple choice answers are given in the book, the four introductory sections - A Personal Note, PS, Srikar’s Pleasure and Acknowledgments - are not only informative, but even scintillating laced as they are with gentle and hearty humour. They bear a distinct signature of the author. And then one shouldn’t miss reading his concluding The Final Question to wow his sense of mocking self-deprecation. The book contains 759 questions, in all – divided into 11 questionnaires of 69 questions each.

Pages 180, Price Rs250, Overseas US $ 10.
