THE VESSEL AND THE WATER

I am like water, volatile and fluid;
You are a vessel, sturdy and firm;
And I have poured myself into you, taking your form, your shape, even colour.
The water’s whole life is in the vessel; the vessel is its world.
The vessel is protective of the water; it cannot let a single drop leak out; it is its job to keep the water from harm, and the water feels safe only in the vessel.
The water has found home in the vessel, and the vessel has found meaning in the water.
The vessel is empty without the water, and the water has no form without the vessel.
Together they live in perfect harmony.
