Kainat Azhar

COMATOSE

Once,
I defined
god as home -  a
silly thought;
home as you -
stupid I am; you
as god - wishful
my existence is.

Today,
as I rest
in a tomb of bruised
butterflies and crushed
stars, I recall
your smile
and pull out the veins
of my wrists
with my teeth -
beloved I was,
abandoned I am.
