YO-HO-HO

You who swallowed
The scream that would tear
Apart the night
I wish we could sit
Together and sing
'Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum'
You who pressed
Your thighs together
When the ocean overflowed
I wish we could sit
Together and sing
'Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum'
You whose dance
Died in your womb
I wish we could sit
Together and sing
'Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum'
What loose women we would then be!

FALLEN STAR

If you could go
And catch a falling star
Fallen far from home
Drowning in her tears
I would give you
My blood-drenched dream

We could strip the silver
From the star
We could clothe her
In our fears
We could take away
Her memories,
Make her only ours
We could hide her magic
In our love, tie
Her wings to ours
We could make her sing
All she wants
And dance
A frenzied dance
We can keep her
Forever and one day
She will believe
If we tell her
And we tell her
She’s not really a star.
